Timber-framed buildings have a strong skeleton of large wooden structural members fastened to one another primarily with wood-on-wood joinery techniques. While a timber-framed home might look like a typical stud-framed house from the outside, the two building systems are actually quite different. By using this ancient building craft
combined with contemporary building concepts, the builder can make the timber framed home a feasible alternative to
the normal stud-frame house. The resulting structure is a home that is strong, stylish, comfortable and practical.

purlins, rafter cross sections, etc. For each roof, details such as total span, timber dimensions and key construction details are given.
In those cases where the roofs had painted ornamentation, color plates of the ornamentation accompany the four-color full-roof views.
It is a beautiful book for anyone interested in timber framing or architecture in general.
